Tshepo Mogorosi is one of Joe Public’s above-the-line Art Directors. He has been hard at work in advertising for the past four years, having grown up in Meadowlands, Soweto and then completing a one year advertising course through Vega’s Imagination Lab. Tshepo is passionate and obsessive about his craft. Dividends of this passion has paid off when Tshepo and copywriting partner Buyani Duma recently celebrated their first two wins at the Creative Circle Ad Of The Month Awards. A first place for a Milk ad for client Clover and a second place for a Ridiculously Thick Milkshake ad for Steers. Anyone got milk?
Tshepo, loves street fashion and is not just an innovative thinker on paper, he walks his own signature style, creating a new lane for young, South African fashionista’s. So what inspires someone like Tshepo? “The streets of Johannesburg give me a fresh perspective. Seeing the hustle and bustle inspires and motivates me,” he says.
He is always one of the first faces you see when you arrive at the agency, “I am surrounded by people who are great at what they do, so I am constantly inspired to do my best. I believe that nothing comes easy and that greatness demands everything.” But, when he is not hard at work, Tshepo takes his imaginings to the cinema. A full time movie addict, his love for the big screen started when his older brother took him to watch ‘Men in Black’, and from then he was hooked. “Going to the cinema became my escape from challenges. And today, it’s my source of inspiration,” he adds.
Congratulations on your hard work, we salute you Tshepo Mogorosi.
