Joe Public's One School at a Time will #MakeChange at Design Indaba 2015, one font at a time
Communications group Joe Public United’s corporate social investment programme and non-profit organisation One School at a Time will make its mark at this year’s 2015 Design Indaba in Cape Town. Following up on Shift Joe Public’s highly awarded Fonts for the Future campaign they will host an interactive stand (D7) at Design Indaba Expo
The stand, designed by Shift Joe Public, the group’s brand design agency, will encourage visitors to help write a better future one font at a time, extending this year’s Design Indaba theme #makechange. The Fonts for the Future campaign took home three Golds and one Silver Loerie at the 2014 Loerie Awards.
Fonts for the Future will be giving away 300 of their learner fonts through a call to action (@OSAAT_SA #FFTFSA) that will run the duration of the three day conference. This will be announced by Pepe Marais, Chief Creative Officer Joe Public, and Xolisa Dyeshana, Executive Creative Director Joe Public, who will open this year’s conference with their inspirational talk entitled, Our path to change in black and white.
“When an idea has purpose, it ripples with growth. Fonts for the Future is a campaign that continues to inspire ideas and move people because it is driven by something deeper, it speaks of change in our country,” said Pepe Marais, Chief Creative Officer Joe Public.
The pair will also announce the launch of a limited edition Design Indaba font range, created for Fonts for the Future by this year’s panel of awe- inspiring guest speakers. This inspired donation will continue to #makechange for Fonts for the Future and inspire change for the NPO’s partnership schools, Forte High School in Dobsonville Soweto and Itirele-Zenzele Comprehensive School in Diepsloot, one handwritten alphabet at a time.
